During National HIV Testing Week (June 21 - 27), BAI will host a series of events!
June 22nd, Sex & Social in South Los Angeles: This community social event targeting young Black gay/bisexual men is designed to facilitate sex positive conversations - normalizing individuals' sexual experiences desires, removing the stigma and shame that may influence one's ability to navigate their sexual risk taking. This two hour casual event will be held at BAI's Drop-in clinic held in the heart South LA. HIV screening and PrEP referral will be provided along with immediate referral and linkage for individuals who are newly diagnosed.
June 25th, Black Health Defined in Greater Downtown: Held at BAI headquarters in downtown LA, Bai's partner - SJWCFC, will provide its mobile clinic and clinicians to work with BAI in providing HIV screening and primary health screenings, along with benefits counseling/screening to increase healthcare access.
June 27th, What the Health #WTH in South-Central Los Angeles: Is a community-wide event that will be in the WalGreens shopping center located on Slauson Street and Western Ave. The event will include other partners such as T.H.E. Clinic, SJWCFC, WalGreens, National Center for Negro Women, and among others. Providing HIV screening, PrEP referral, information dissemination, and services to increase HIV awareness and access to HIV care and prevention services.
